How rostering works in Urhere

Understand how to create, manage, and publish shifts so your team knows when to work. Shifts are created in the roster, assigned to employees, and then published so your staff can see them.

How the rostering is structured

Rostering in Urhere is built around a few key parts:

Locations - applicable if you have multiple franchises/locations

Areas - sections within a venue such as Front of House or Kitchen.

Employees - The staff which you are assigning to shifts.

Shifts - The working hours you assign to an employee on a specific day.

How rostering works

Most businesses follow this flow:

  1. Select a location

  2. Choose the week you want to roster

  3. Create shifts for each area

  4. Assign employees to those shifts

  5. Review the roster

  6. Publish the shifts

Once published, employees can see their shifts, if required confirm the shift and then clock in and out of the shift. If changes are needed, you can update shifts and republish them.

The time worked will flow into timesheets which you can amend if required.

Before creating shifts

Before you start rostering, make sure:

  • your locations are set up

  • your areas are set up

  • your employees have been added and assigned to the correct locations

If these are not set up properly, employees may not appear when creating shifts.
