Copying shifts and setting up a schedule template

Save time by copying shifts or using schedule templates to quickly build your rosters. If your roster follows a regular pattern, you can copy shifts, duplicate entire rosters, or use schedule templates to avoid rebuilding it each time.

Copy a shift

  1. Go to the Schedule

  2. Find the shift you want to copy

  3. Hover your curser on the shift

  4. Select Copy

  5. Choose the new date or placement

  6. Paste the shift

The copied shift will appear in the new time or day you selected.

Set up a schedule template

If you use the same roster regularly, you can save it as a template.

  1. Go to the Schedule on up a week with the shifts you want to reuse

  2. Select the Save | Copy option

  3. Name the template and add a description (it's not mandatory to add a description)

  4. Use the toggle to confirm if you would like the template to include any unassigned/empty shifts

  5. Select the status of shifts you wish to save to the template

  6. Select Save Template

This allows you to reuse the same structure without copying from a specific week each time.

How to use a schedule template

  1. Go to the Schedule

  2. Open the week you want to create

  3. Select Save | Copy

  4. Select Load Template

  5. Select the Ellipsis

  6. Select Load Template

The template will create the roster with your predefined shifts.

What to check

After copying a shift or using a template, review the roster to make sure the correct employees and shifts are assigned. Also ensure no shifts overlap with any employees leave.

Templates and copied rosters do not adjust automatically.
