Setting up an employees salary

Add or update salary details so an employee’s pay is correct before timesheets go to payroll. This ensures their timesheets are calculated correctly and ready for payroll.

Set up salary

  1. Go to Employees

  2. Select an employees

  3. Select Pay Rates

This is where you will choose a pay rate option that suits each employee. You can also create pay templates for use across multiple employees.

If you are using an industry standard award, you will be able to select this rate from the rate library.

Note - if an employee is on a fixed salary, calculate and enter in their daily rate.

4. Enter the relevant pay details

5. Save your changes

If required you can also set pay rates via an area. For example if an employee working a bartending shift they can be paid $35 p/h, however if they also work as a glassy you can pay them a separate rate depending on the area they are allocated for that shift.

What to check

Make sure the correct pay rate is set up for this employee and their payroll-linked details are correctly.

If this is not set up properly, timesheets may be incorrect when sent to payroll.
