What is a pay template and why use one?
A pay template is a configuration of pay rules combined to determine how an employee is paid. These pay rules are based on the time of day, day of the week and other working conditions.
You can create as many pay templates as you like, and these templates can be used across your team. Pay templates give you control over the rules and wages of employees from one place.
Create a custom pay template
Navigate to the Employee page
Select Pay Templates from the sidebar
Select Add Template
Enter a name for the template, select a calculation type and rate details
Understand calculation types:
Dollar amount - A fixed rate that will be used to calculate an employee's pay.
Multiplier - This is applicable when you want to use multiplier that will scale off the base rate you enter. For example, overtime may be a 1.2x multiplier of their base rate
Select Create Template to proceed
