Understanding payroll mapping

Learn how pay items in Xero align with Urhere pay templates, rates and awards to ensure accurate payroll exports.

What is payroll mapping?

Payroll mapping is the process of linking Urhere pay rules, such as ordinary hours, overtime, penalties and any allowances set to carry over into Xero.

Without correct mapping, payroll data may export incorrectly or fail.

Why payroll mapping is important

Mapping ensures employees are paid correctly and their hours are assigned to the right pay category. This also helps guard against inaccurate payroll exports or errors and reduces the number of manual adjustments required.

How payroll mapping works

When pay rate, templates and awards are set up and assigned in Urhere, they each have specific pay rules, such as ordinary hours, overtime, weekend, etc. These rules are mapped to match with Xero's pay items and once the timesheets are exported into Xero, Urhere sends the data using these rules to Xero.

Payroll mapping is a critical step to ensure Urhere and Xero integration works smoothly, helping you run payroll with accuracy.
