Add a new location

Create another location in your Urhere account so you can roster and manage staff across multiple sites.

If your business runs across more than one site, you can add extra locations inside the same Urhere account.

To add a new location, go to the top right of your screen, click the Icon with your initials, then choose Locations, and then the Add Button.

You will be asked for:

  • location name

  • location code

  • timezone

The location code is available if you want to use it, but most businesses will mainly care about the name and timezone.

Once the location has been created, you can move into the rest of the setup for that location.

It is worth reviewing the location settings before you start using it day to day.

This matters because location settings affect things like:

  • how your roster displays

  • timezone handling

  • clock-in methods

  • break behaviour

  • shift swapping

  • whether staff can clock in without being rostered

To review those settings, open Schedule & Shift Settings for that location.

A few of the main settings worth checking are:

What day your schedule starts
This controls how the roster week is displayed.

Whether check-in via GPS is enabled
If you want employees clocking in by QR code or tablet instead, you can turn GPS check-in off.

GPS and geofence settings
If you want staff to only clock in when they are actually on site, review the GPS and Geofence settings for that location.

Whether staff can start a shift without being rostered
If this is turned on, staff can clock in without a rostered shift, more like a traditional bundy clock. If you plan shifts in advance, it is usually better to leave this off.

Kiosk photo settings
If you use the Kiosk app on a tablet, you can choose whether staff photos are taken at clock-in and clock-out.

Whether staff can see who they are working with
This controls visibility of co-workers on shifts.

Break settings
You can choose whether employees record breaks taken, or whether break minutes simply default from the shift settings. Most businesses use the default break minutes, but you can also track breaks without affecting the timesheet if needed.

Shift swapping and claims
You can choose whether staff can swap shifts and whether claims or swaps need approval.

Once those settings are in place, the next step is usually to set up the areas for that location and make sure the right employees can work there.
